For the second week in succession Kircubbin failed to hold on to a lead in the latter stages of the game, allowing Junior Cup holders Woodvale to come back from a 2-3 scoreline.
Kircubbin took the lead with a fantastic strike from twenty yards with a powerful shot into the top corner from Turlough Bell. But Woodvale pressed Kircubbin back and managed to equalise soon after. Woodvale then took the lead with a carbon copy of the first goal, but Kircubbin again struck back with another goal from Turlough. 2-2 at the break.
Into the second half and Kircubbin managed to score a third to take a slender lead. But Woodvale showed why they are currently rated as one of the favourites to win the league as they scored a further three goals without reply to eventually win the game 5-3.
